The pyrometallurgy line of development targets the recovery of metallic materials in all possible waste streams allowing their optimal valorization, well beyond the foundry industry. Indeed, these metallic materials can be found under various forms in a wide variety of industrial and household waste streams, from end-of-life appliances to metal waste from metal processing plants (steel machining and grinding residues, cast iron and alloys, etc.) as well as in landfill sites. The objective is the identification of specific waste streams suitable for the economic recovery of metals by the development of adapted pyrometallurgical technologies and processes.
